dc.description.abstract For the correct identification and research on early life history, lots of information about morphological variation at each stage of larval fish is required.Family Bregmacerotidae, which has one genus Bregmaceros and 14 species around the world (FISHBASE, 2017), are small-sized, epipelagic and mesopelagic species, showing a broad range of pigment and fin ray changes during their pre, post-larval and juvenile stages. Among these five or six species are found in the East China Sea (Nakabo, 2013). Bregmaceros atlanticus (Antenna codlet) is circumtropical, with a widespread distribution throughout tropical and subtropical waters of the Western Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans, and the China Sea. This paper describes morphological features of the fish specimens throughout their development stages.e world (FISHBASE, 2017), are small-sized, epipelagic and mesopelagic species, showing a broad range of pigment and fin ray changes during their pre, post-larval and juvenile stages.
