dc.description.abstract In this study, long-term and short-term monitoring of structural dynamic characteristics of Socheongcho Ocean Research Station (ORS) was carried out. In order to study ocean and meteorological changes related to the global climate change and global warming, Korea is operating several ORSs including Ieodo ORS, Gageocho ORS in remote ocean area. Socheongcho ORS was recently constructed in 2014 and its main functions include a comprehensive ocean and meteorological observation,key data archives on global environmental change, and also a function as a test bed for research on long-term structural safety monitoring of a jacket-type offshore structure. Socheongcho ORS is an open laboratory in the sea area equipped with 22 kinds of ocean observational equipment, 12 kinds of weather equipment including anemometer, and 7 kinds of ocean environmental observation equipment such as atmospheric aerosol automatic collector. In July 2011, Typhoon Muifa directly hit the Gageocho ORS, and it was damaged to its structural members and various ocean observation devices. During reconstructing the Gageocho ORS, it was not possible to acquire many data related in ocean observation and ocean environmental observation and so on, unfortunately (Kim et al., 2017). After this, dynamic response measurement systems are instrumented to assess the structural integrity of ORSs including Socheongcho ORS (Kim et al., 2017). This study aims to monitor -
