Abstract
an color monitoring system at GEO(Geostationary Earth Orbits). GOCI-II has been developed for the
past six years and is scheduled for launch in 2019. GOCI-II has the same orbital position, 128.2E Longitude in
geostationary orbit, with GOCI. The mission mode of GOCI-II is configured as Global (Full Disk) mode, Local mode,
Special mode, Star imaging, Moon imaging, and Solar Calibration.
GOCI-II will provide a new function called as Global mode. This mode can make an full disk image with 235 slot
during 1 day. The observation area is a circle field of ±60° longitude and latitude central to the spacecraft nadir. GOCIII
has also Local mode, which the area is exactly same with GOCI, to maintain mission continuity. However, the
observation time of Local mode is increase to 10 times from 8 times per day. Special mode is also called as userdefinable
LA mode. It means the user of GOCI-II can select the observation area within Global mode area.
Star imaging is for Image Navigation and Registration(INR). Moon imaging and Solar calibration are for calibration of
GOCI-II instrument. Solar calibration has the same principle with GOCI and will be operated 1 time per day. Moon
imaging will be performed 1 time per month for the monitoring the aging of the solar diffuser.I. The mission mode of GOCI-II is configured as Global (Full Disk) mode, Local mode,
Special mode, Star imaging, Moon imaging, and Solar Calibration.
