Abstract
- Aru islands is located in the eastern part of Indonesia, to the east of the Banda Sea that is known strongly
influenced by the Australian winter monsoon and ENSO circulation (Figure 1). As a part of the Banda Sea,
it is interesting to study the Holocene condition in this area, related to both Australian monsoon and
ENSO circulation. For this study, we use the quantitative analysis of microfauna foraminifera, that has
been known as a potential paleonvironmental proxy due to its sensitivity to the environmental changes.
Foraminferal assemblages is studied from a 152 cm length sediment core, retrieved from position
