dc.description.abstract Korea announced the 3rd Basic Plan on Deep Sea Water Development, which confirmed the strategies and projects to enter the stable growth period of the deep sea water industry. The plan is a long-term vision of the state on deep sea water resources developing and managing in the country. It sets the goal of raising the deep sea water industry to 400 billion won by 2023, and presents 4 major strategies and 13 key tasks. In particular, the focus is on diversification of development and utilization, and high growth of the industry through the development of high added value, away from biased development structure such as bottled water production and use for food. In addition, Korea is planning to make a great leapforward in the development of deep sea water industry based on the implementation of the plan. This study reviews the status of Korean deep sea water resources development since 2008, and through the analysis of the 3rd Basic Plan on DeepSea Water Development, will present the direction and prospect of Korea 's deep sea water industry development for the next 5 years. -
