dc.description.abstract Wave observation in the ocean are carried out two types of method: directly measured the water level displacement using buoy or remote sensing measurement using radar. Remote sensing measurements such as wave radar have more advantages of producing long term time series wave parameters and less the operational cost, but also have more disadvantage of less accuracy than the buoy. MIROS Wave and Current Radar (MWR), one of the remote type instruments, is widely used all over the world and Korea Ocean Research Stations (KORS) are one of them. However, the same as other radar type measurements, MWR have less reliability in low wind and wave conditions. Min et al. (2018) studied for enhancing the quality of MWR data compared with Directional Waverider Buoy (DWR) data at Socheongcho Ocean Research Station(S-ORS), one of KORS. With applying the various filters (Correlation Check, Directional Filter, Phillips Check) listed in MWR software (SW-002, v4.00), the quality of MWR wave height is significantly enhanced but one of wave period and direction were needed to increase. This study is to access and more enhance the quality of MWR data at S-ORS by reprocessing and applying new algorithm and filters, which were described by MWR new software (SW-002, v4.10). The algorithm was developed by using a method based on Fourier Coefficients, and the two filters are ‘Remove Long Period Noise’ that can delete low frequency noise and -
