dc.description.abstract Smart Escape Guiding Agent for Ship (SEGA-Ship) helps navigator’s decision making in maneuvering ships and selecting the places where the ship move to avoid a subsequent secondary accident in an emergency. In this study, we verified and validated four core modules of SEGA-Ship to confirm their availability and reliability. We determined four modules for verification: priority of contingency places, anchoring support, intentional grounding support and collision risk alarm. There are four steps of verification and validation in this study: Visual check using MATLAB, inspect of output data and comparison with other models or a result of an accident report. There are two kinds of data in this study: the first is real ship data during its navigation, and the second is past AIS data of accident cases. We are looking forward that the above procedure could improve the credibility of SEGA Ship so that the system would be a help for the decision making of operators in an emergency. -
