- 말라리아는 여전히 매년 3-5백만 명의 목숨을 앗아가는 심각한 질병이다. 현재까지 말라리아 치료제로 널리 쓰이는 알테미시닌은 중국의 육상식물 Qinghai에서 분리한 Tetracyclic sesquiterpene endoperoxide계의 화합물이다.
