dc.description.abstract We have developed a downscaled operational oceanographic system for the coastal waters of Korea using a wave-current coupled model. The hydrodynamic results simulated by ROMS has been calibrated with tidal surface elevation and verified with current data observed by bottom mounted acoustic current meter ADCP and AWAC for the coastal water of Korea. For the validation of predicted results we use the coastal information system for the model skill assessment between model results and real-time monitoring data such as hydrodynamic observation by re-mote Buoy system and ocean observatory tower. The coastal circulation derived from HF-Radar and surface sediment transport generated from geostationary satellite COMS image will be used for the validation of this coastal operational model. The effect of wave-current interaction is also analyzed by comparison of coupled model results and AWAC wave data during a typhoon approach in western coastal waters of Korea. -
