지구과학교육과 야외지질조사 교육 강화 방안에 대한 고찰

Abstract

The field of solid earth science in Korea has greatly developed during 1990`s. As a result, new perspectives gave a chance to re-evaluate on the geological history and geodynamics of the Korean Peninsula. Many geological societies and research groups continuously explore new field excursion sites and provide related data for activating field excursions. It is necessary that the students of the department of earth science education recognize the importance of field excursion in educational fields. The aim of this study is to summarize the recent study on the geology of Korea and published field excursion data for adequate application on actual field in the earth science education.

90년대 들어 우리 나라의 고체지구과학은 급속히 발전해 왔으며, 이와 더불어 많은 새로운 연구결과들이 나와 종래의 우리 나라의 지사 및 지체구조에 대한 많은 새로운 해석이 시도되고 있다. 또한 지구과학 관련 학회 및 연구그룹에서 매년 새로운 답사지역을 개발하고, 이들 지역에 대한 답사자료를 제공함으로써 야외답사의 활성화를 도모하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 고등학교 지구과학Ⅱ '우리 나라의 지질'과 관련한 지구과학교육과 교과과정 중 야외지질조사 교육의 중요성을 강조하고, 이를 체계화하고자 우리 나라 지질계통 중에서 각 시대별로 대표적인 지층군에 대한 지질학적 특성 및 야외 답사 자료를 정리하고, 그 활용방안에 대해 모색해본다.
