Abstract
- The acoustic properties of piston core sediments are generally measured through a pulse transmission technique from multiple sediment samples taken from vertically incised core sediments. This conventional method requires a significant amount of time to measure the acoustic properties of the piston core sediments. For this method, the vertical depth resolutions for the acoustic properties of the sediments are also poor. In this study, we suggest a quick method to measure the acoustic properties of piston core sediments. This method can provide a high-depth resolution for the acoustic properties of sediments.
