Abstract
- (3Z,6E)-1-N-methylalbonoursin was isolated from the marine-derived actinomycete Streptomyces albus 228DD-66 isolated from a sediment sample collected at deep-sea of Dokdo island, Republic of Korea. The strain 228DD-66 produced (3Z,6E)-1-N-methylalbonoursin as a major secondary metabolite. The structure of (3Z,6E)-1-N-methylalbonoursin was determined by 1D and 2D NMR and mass spectrometric data analyses. (3Z,6E)-1-N-methylalbonoursin was found to have moderate antibacterial activities against Staphylococcus aureus and methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) [1]. Further research is needed to investigate various bioactivities of (3Z,6E)-1-N-methylalbonoursin.
