dc.description.abstract | This study aimed to design a vertical axis turbine of tidal energy convertor by solving the unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equation. Precise flow analysis was carried out to design a hybrid vertical dual turbine that combines the darrieus type and savonius type. The hexa- and tetra-hedral grids were used to construct the computational domain and the grid dependency test was performed to find the optimum grid system. Hybrid vertical turbine has been shown to further improve operational stability and power performance compared to the conventional darrieus turbine. | - |
