dc.description.abstract | In South Korea, the \\\\'‘Harbor and Port Design Guideline (2005)\\\\' is typically used to design offshore structures, but it dose not provide specific guideline for offshore wind turbine foundations. The principle of designing offshore foundation are similar regardless of structural purpose; thus, it is possible to extend the application of the current guideline to wind turbine foundation. However, design guidelines are exclusively developed for offshore wind turbine structure in European countries, which adopts limit state design. On the other hand, the Harbor and Port Design Guideline is general purpose guideline that adopts outdated allowable state design. It is necessary to develop design guideline for offshore wind turbine foundation that conforms to worldwide trend. | - |
