dc.description.abstract This paper presents 2D load transfer analysis for offshore bucket foundation with large diameter. Conventional load transfer analysis assumes that the soil properties are the same along the perimeter of a pile, thus single element represent the soil-pile interaction at a depth. However, for the bucket foundation whose diameter is as large as 10m, the spatial variation of soil properties along the perimeter could be significant. New methodology to account for the spatial variation is suggested, and the results from the 2D load transfer analysis is compared with the conventional analysis. -
