Abstract
Gastrotricha is a representative invertebrate with nematodes and copepods in the interstitial fauna, as well as a high diversity. However, the taxonomic studies of them in East Asia, were rare known. So, gastrotrichs can be the best taxa to take the initiative in biodiversity from East Asia for the future. Research on gastrotrich also has high value as the basis of biogeography and speciation due to narrow distribution and high endemicity, and will be contribute to the expansion of research on unexplored taxa like gnathostomulid, priapluid, and marine halacarid through taxonomic studies of gastrotrichs. Moreover, occurrence characteristics and species composition of gastrotrichs that live in freshwater and coastal habitat, will be expected to the development of future environmental indicator species. take the initiative in biodiversity from East Asia for the future.
