Abstract
- Gastrotricha is a representative invertebrate with nematodes and copepods in interstitial fauna, as well as a high diversity. The taxonomic studies of gastrotrich fauna in Korea is still poor, in spite of serial taxonomic studies accomplished during the past 10 years. A total of 31 species of 12 genera have been recorded in six families (Cephalodasyidae, Planodasyidae, Lepidodasyidae, Thaumastodermatidae, Chaetonotidae, and Xenotrichulide) from marine, and 16 species of six genera in three families (Chaetonotidae, Dasydytidae and Neogosseidae) from freshwater (Chang et al., 1998a, 1998b Chang and Lee, 2001 Lee, 2012, 2013 Lee and Chang, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2012a, 2012b Lee et al., 2009, 2014). This present deals with the taxonomic list of the gastrotrichs from Korea and we prospect the biodiversity of gastrotrichs in the future.ed during the past 10 years.
