dc.description.abstract Free-floating eggs of Lophius litulon were collected using plankton nets after their release from a pelagic egg mass. The eggs were identified based on molecular analysis and several morphological characteristics. These rare, separated eggs have not been reported previously and represent the first such finding for Lophiiformes. (C) 2015 The Fisheries Society of the British Isles -
