dc.description.abstract Five species of marine microalgae selected to indicate useful food organism were analyzed fatty acid composition of five growth phase (early lag phase, late lag phase, exponential phase, early stationary phase, late stationary phase). Fatty acid composition showed that differ from species, and unsaturated fatty acid had higher level than saturated fatty acid (SAF). Polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) of microalgae exhibited high in the order of P. dentatum (86.53%), P.tricornutum (76.81%), I.galbana(64.05%). Especially, P. tricornutum (40.05%) contained the highest level Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). I. galbana (45.82%) contained the highest level docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). In the all tested marine microalgae, amounts of PUFA were increased at stationary phase but PUFA in P. tricornutum at late lag and stationary phase were higher than other growth phase. P. gyrans had highest PUFA contents at exponential phase.atty acid composition showed that differ from species, and unsaturated fatty acid had higher level than saturated fatty acid (SAF).
