We assessed the health risk for human population exposed to As, Cd, Chlordane, DDT and PCB by consuming fishliving in a contaminated marine environment. TrophicTrace® software was used to estimate the body burden ofcontaminants in greenling (Hexagrammos otakii) and flounder (Pleuronectes herzensteini) with the conceptual foodweb models for a given site and to calculate carcinogenic risk and noncarcinogenic hazard indices (HI), respectively, for the human population. The carcinogenic risk and HI varied greatly depending on the fish species and sedimentorganic carbon contents at the given site. Improved knowledge on the trophic transfer of contaminants in the foodweb would be necessary for the construction of reliable ecosystem based tool for the management of contaminatedsediments.greenling (Hexagrammos otakii) and flounder (Pleuronectes herzensteini) with the conceptual foodweb models for a given site and to calculate carcinogenic risk and noncarcinogenic hazard indices (HI), respectively, for the human population.
