dc.description.abstract A parametric study on the determination of resistance factor in LRFD for pile foundatiopn was performaed to investigate the load model effects in code calivration. The nine pile group and two single piles installed ad a highly overconsolidated clay site tested to failure axially were used for this study. Resistance factors depending upon bias and variance in the resistqance calculation in the design method and external load effects have been computed by both including load model effects and excludung it for pile foundation. paper shows that the load model effects are crtically important to determine the resistance factor in LRFD and shoul be included in computaion any resistance determiantion. -
