dc.description.abstract | A psychrophillic bacterium designated as Pseudoalteromonas sp. L203 based on its physiological properties and 16S rRNA sequence was isolated from the bottom sediment of Marian cove, King George island, Antarctica and found to produce extracellular phospholipase A1. Using this 40 kDa molecular weight, sodium and calcium dependent, psychrophillic phospholipase, phosphatidyl choline with EPA was produced from ethyl ester of EPA and lyso-phosphatidyl choline in two phase reaction system at pH8 and 5 oC, with a yield of 28.7 %. | - |
