dc.description.abstract | Euphausiids, Euphausia pacifica and jellies, Aurelia aurita have been reported to be the main organisms to colg the drum screen in the cooling water supply system of a nuclear power plant at Uljin, eastern coast of korea. However, a large amount of gelatinous plankton, especially Salpa fudiformis also had been sucked into the seawater intake to clog the screen at 18 June 2003 (Korea Hydro & Nuclear Co. estimated presumptively the whole amount of the clogged animals at 295 ton and it caused 38% of malfunction in generation capability of the power plant. | - |
