황해 운용해양학시스템을 위한 실시간 해양관측 시스템구축

Abstract

Establishment of an Integrated Ocean Observing System is needed for the prevention of natural disaster, development of coastal regions, development and management of ocean resources, preservation of ocean environment, and other sea based industry. In 2000, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries prepared an implementation plan for the establishment of a real-time coastal and ocean monitoring network for the surrounding waters of the Korean peninsula. The current status of real-time coastal monitoring system which are currently operating or are being constructed, and also the basic plan for the implementation of real-time coastal and ocean observing system in Korea are described here. Suggestions for further improvement of the system for the operational oceanography have been made.
