dc.description.abstract A real-time prediction system on GUI was developed to simulate tidal currents and SS dispersion in coastal waters and to show the results on PC Window in real-time. The system is a real-time monitoring system for providing the information on the tidal currents and the transport of suspended sediments occurred by port & harbor construction such as dredging. The system consists of pre-processing module, modeling module and post processing module. The modeling module includes a tide model using a finite element method and a SS transport model using a particle-tracking method. This system was applied to predict the tidal currents and SS concentration in Kunsan port. The results show that the system can be used to obtain real-time information on environmental impact parameters such as SS due to port & harbor construction. -
