dc.description.abstract Establishment and operation of a real-time coastal observing system require quite a lot of fund and effort. One of cost effective way of building real-time coastal observing system can be achieved by making most of the facilities already available in the coastal waters. Korea Ocean Research and Development Institute has been testing lots of different coastal facilities such as navigation tower built on the underwater rock, navigation buoy, coastal pier, gas production tower to establish a coast effective real-time coastal observing system in the coastal waters of Korea. The experiences and technologies obtained during establishing real-time coastal observing system using such coastal facilities in the past will be introduced and discussed in the Symposium. -
