dc.description.abstract Using a numerical model, we investigated the impacts of the Tsushima Warm Current(TWC) on the Mixed Layer Depth(MLD) and meridional overturning strength of the East Sea. It is shown that the MLD is deepen in case of decreasing TWC transport while it is shallowed in case of increasing TWC. The deeping of the MLD is related to the meridional overturing in the deep layer which has been enhanced in the case of decreasing TWC transport. It is interesting that the meridional overturning circulation is strengthened in the upper-mid depth in the case of increasing TWC transport. A new possibility has been suggested that the lateral transport change can play an important role on the long term change of the East Sea. -
