dc.description.abstract In this experiment temperature in the subarctic and the polar region in both hemisphere is simulated to be several degrees higher than the observation, and even fresher in the northern Atlantic basin. As a result formation of intermediate, deep and bottom water masses such as NPIW, NADW and AABW are not simulated properly. More precise surface flux condition is needed for the simulation of water masses, heat and mass transports in the global ocean. As a future experiment we hope to employ other flux conditions than the usual restoring condition, and proper mixing scheme such as kpp vertical mixing parameterization. -
