dc.description.abstract Typhoon Maemi landed on the south coast of Korea and caused a tremendous severe storm surge disaster in Masan city on September, 2003. The tide gauge in Masan Port recorded the storm surge of a maximum of approximately 2.4m. The residential and commercial area facing to the Masan Bay was heavily flooded and the almost underground facilities suffered from the inundation by the storm surge. The numerical prediction of inundation due to storm surge was carried out in order to propose the future prevention system. This paper also describes the results of field survey and the validity of the inundation simulation. -
