Abstract

Preparation of fishing ground to enhance fish stocks is one of the most important sectors in marine ranching porgram, and ecological characteristics of target species should be considered in preparation of the ground. Scope of the Study for the enhancement at marine ranching area involved Seed production and evaluation for the artificial stocking, seed releasing and evaluation, techniques for hydroacostics acclimation, nursing techniques of target fishes and ecology and behavioral pattern of target fish. In Tongyeong marine ranching program, main target fish species were Sebastes inermis and S. schlegeli which distribute rocky shore of the coast of Korea. For the settlement of these species new artificial reefs were designed and placed at the marine ranching area.
