dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this document is to introduce international joint study of port & harbour structure among China, Japan, Korea. Three countries started to discuss joint topics in 1999 for the Northeast Asia director-general annual meeting of port & harbor department. To improve the effectiveness of joint study, the representatives of three countries discussed the subjects of joint study on September 1999. Finally, three countries concluded to begin the joint study of reliability based design for port & harbour structures from 2001 to 2006. Japan has started to study on life cost analysis of target reliability index for breakwater and seawall structures and China has researched to re-evaluate his partial safety factor for gravity type seawall, and Korea’s concern was how to characterize key design variables including soil uncertainty for reliability based design of port & harbour structures. | - |
