dc.description.abstract In this paper we report recent changes in El Nino characteristics with focus on its location of maximum center. For simplicity we here define the two types of El Ninos which are based on the two NINO indices, respectively, i.e., one is the NINO3 SST index and the other is the NINO4 SST index. And then, we show how the statistics of these two types of El Ninos changes in terms of amplitude and frequency for the period of 1950-2006. Furthermore, we explore the teleconnections between the two different El Ninos. -
