Abstract
Microalgae are the organisms capable of producing valuable metabolites, such aspigments, protein and vitamins for feed additives, pharmaceutical and neutraceutical use. Spirulina platensis has produced commercially all over the world due to its high content of protein (up to 70%). Apart from the higher (above 30 °C) and the most requirements factor for growing S. platensis is nutrients and continuous supplying of sufficient amount of carbon dioxide. The objectives of this study were to investigate the effects of less amount of NaHCO3 and more nitrogen source compare to Zarrouk’s media to find out the biomass production variation in outdoor culture system.
