dc.description.abstract The tidal system near the Saemangeum area is drastically changed after the flnal closure of the dike in April 2006. However other coastal constructions also cause the change of tidal system in this area. Since 1983, a seawall and three breakwaters have constructed and being constructed in the Kunsan Port adjacent to the northern end of the Saemangeum dike. The Geum River seawall, blocking a sea water intrusion up to the Geum River, has completed in 1994. A 7 km 1ong breakwater and a 3 km Iong breakwater are constructed in1997 and 2004,breakwaters have constructed and being constructed in the Kunsan Port adjacent to the northern end of the Saemangeum dike.
