dc.description.abstract The dynamics concerned on the water intrusion in the southern Yellow Sea in winter is investigated using an idealized numerical model. The intrusion is influenced by nonlinear interaction of current, wind-driven flow and tidal current. The northward up-wind flow driven by northerly wind along the Yellow Sea Central trough is restricted by interaction with tide current. An unsteady northerly wind intensifies the water exchange between the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea. -
