제 4회 한중일 GLOBEC/IMBER 심포지엄

Abstract

The 4th China-Japan-Korea GLOBEC/IMBER Symposium will be held 18-20 May 2010, at the Jeju National University International Center in Jeju National University (Ara Campus) in Jeju, Korea. The meeting is hosted by Korea GLOBEC/IMBER Committee, Jeju Sea Grant Program, the Korea Ocean Research and Development Institute and National Fisheries Research & Development Institute.The symposium has 5 oral sessions:1. Long-term ecosystem changes in the Northwestern Pacific Ocean: climate change induced ecosystem changes, regime shift, and dynamics of higher trophic level populations2. Biogeochemistry: carbon chemistry, nutrient cycles, and stoichiometry in different ecosystems3. Acidification: experimental and field observations about the effects of acidification on various aquatic organisms4. Food web studies: comparison of end-to-end food webs in the Northwestern Pacific Ocean5. Abrupt ecosystem changes: recent changes such as hypoxia, jellyfish outbreaks, and macro-algal bloomsPosters will be presented for the similar themes as the oral sessions. In discussion session, a representative of IMBER SSC will introduce the current status and future plan for IMBER. National plans and activities of IMBER-related research will be introduced and there will be a panel discussion on how to facilitate the transition of GLOBEC activities to IMBER activities.
