Abstract
This paper presents the approach for detection of ships in the open or near Shore Oceanarea in two co-polarization modes. Using this method one can monitor the ships whichare going offshore by taking the two imagery of same area with same Latitude andLongitude, but with the different polarization modes. If ships are present there is a highcorrelation in the same region for different SAR images. Here we use the X Band SARdata with HH and VV polarizations then we use to apply 2D cross-correlation function ontwo co-polarized channels HH and VV with different intensity or amplitude levels. Andthen finally we can compare the intensity levels of the all images with each other in basedon the back-scattering values of both polarized images.
