dc.description.abstract The Geostationary Ocean Color Imager (GOCI), the first geostationary ocean color observation satellite in the world was launched in June 2010. The GOCI data is now undergoing the IOT (In-Orbit Test). The verification of GOCI data is very important for a marine environmental analysis. Each satellite data should remove the atmospheric effect before a marine applications. Especially the reflectance data from the sea surface is extremely small compared with it from the land, so that the atmospheric correction process is very significant. In this study we would like to compare the atmospheric corrected remote sensing reflectance data (Rrs) of GOCI with the other ocean color sensors’. There are several typical ocean color sensors, the SeaWiFS (Sea-viewing Wide Field-of-view Sensor), MODIS (Moderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer), MERIS (MEdium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer). Additionally Landsat data will be used to compare for the coastal area. The result of this study will be helpful for the tuning of the GOCI atmospheric correction technique adapted to the sea areas around the Korean Peninsula. -
