dc.description.abstract Present study described vertical distributional pattern of the C. sinicus and the related vertical profiles of temperature and salinity in the cold waters of the Yellow Sea. Female adults and copepodite 5 performed upward movement at midnight and downward movement at daybreak. Unlike the case of 2010, high abundances of female adults and copepodite 5 were observed at surface waters (0-10m), ranging from 120 to 302 inds.m-3, from 184 to 456 inds.m-3, respectively in 2011. However, abundances of female adults and copepodite 5 in 2010 ranged from 0 to 2 inds.m-3, from 0 to 14 inds.m-3, respectively in 2011. The difference of abundance between 2010 and 2011 was not clear now, but occurrence of large abundance of female adults and copepodite 5 at surface waters in 2011 was likely might be related to the low temperature as a result of mixing of water column by typhoon MUIFA. -
