dc.description.abstract This paper provides economic analysis on the tripod and jacket with bucket foundation compared with the conventional jacket foundation at 50 m deep offshore sites. The economic analayses were performed on the two different geological sites; geotechnical characteristics of the test sites are from the geotechnical reports on the vicinity of Wedo area on the western coast and Tongyoung area on the southern coast of Korea. Based on the economic analysis, the bucket foundation (either the tripod bucket foundation or the jacket with bucket foundation) is more economically feasible than the conventional jacket foundation for the two different ground conditions. The construction cost per MW of tripod and jacket substructures with bucket foundation is lower than that of the conventional jacket foundation having piles with water depth at least up to 50m water depth. -
