dc.description.abstract | A tripod bucket foundation, which combines three single buckets, has been used to increase the horizontal and moment capacities. This study performed the numerical analyses by using ABAQUS(2010) to analyze the group effect and the bearing capacity of a tripod bucket in clay. The parametric studies were performed by varying the bucket spacing ratio S/D (S=Spacing between centers of a bucket and a tower;D=Diameter of a bucket) and the depth ratio L/D (L=embedded Length of skirt). Loading against vertical,horizontal and moment directions was simulated by increasing each movement at a reference point.
