Abstract
FMCW Radar has been used by small size ships because the radar can deal with sending and receiving data and because it spends much lower electric power than existing pulse radars. On the other hand, many studies about FMCW Radar have just investigated in narrow fields such as a car and distance measurement. Therefore, the FMCW Radar still has not researched for ocean and vessels. Kalman Filter is a recursive filter that has a function to trace a target in the linear coordinates including noise signals. This is applied to various fields such as computer vision, robot engineering, radar system, and especially, tracking algorithms for vehicles, moving objects, and persons. However, Kalman Filter is an algorithm not to find a position of a current object from every situation but to track the accurate position with input data. This paper has a couple of steps for tracking targets.st investigated in narrow fields such as a car and distance measurement.
