dc.description.abstract Marine organisms are rich source of secondary metabolites with novel structure and potent biological activities, making attraction among natural products scientists for securing these resources. One focus of our collaborative research program in marine natural products has been the isolation and identification of bioactive secondary metabolites of marine invertebrates inhabiting Micronesian waters. During the last 10 or more years, various marine organisms including sponges, tunicates, alga, and symbiotic bacteria have been collected from Micronesian and Korean Waters, and their chemical constituents and usefulness have been examined in our laboratory. These results are summarized and a comparative study, which combines a difference of sea area with natural products chemistry, will be discussed.rogram in marine natural products has been the isolation and identification of bioactive secondary metabolites of marine invertebrates inhabiting Micronesian waters.
