dc.description.abstract KSORC is located in the tropical South Pacific at Weno Island, Chuuk state FSM. Weno Island coast surrounded by a typical fringing reef and the reef is composed of mangrove forests. seagrass bed and coral reefs. We have been monitoring the reef in early 2011 to evaluate current conditions of those haitat. In september 2010., the reef aroung KSORC have been mapped using the Korean Multi-purpose Satellite-2 (Kompsat-2) image data. In this study, we classified habitat distribution using in situ survey on the northeastern coasts of Weno Island and compared to the survey data to the Kompsat-2 habitat classfication. The objective of this study was to utilize photo quadrat method(PHOTS) DATA TO ENHANCE THE ACCURACY OF REMOTE SENSING IMAGE CLASSFICATION. The three transect lines were designed to traverse the reef from coast to slope area.the reef in early 2011 to evaluate current conditions of those haitat.
