Abstract
In this study, a unicellular green microalga was isolated from environmental water and cultured at BG-11 medium. Microscopic analysis revealed that the isolate was unicellular flagellated chlorophyta. To determine the taxonomical position of the isolate, 18S rRNA gene was sequenced and phylogenetic analysis was constructed. Based on these results, the isolated microalga was classified into the genus Chlamydomonas, and finally designated as Chlamydomonas sp. KIOST-1.Based on these results, the newly isolated Chlamydomonas sp. KIOST-1 will have a potentiality as a new feedstock for biofuel production.on of the isolate, 18S rRNA gene was sequenced and phylogenetic analysis was constructed.
