Abstract
- Marine Bacillus species produce versatile secondary metabolites including macrolactones, polyketides, lipopeptides, and fatty acids. These structurally diverse compounds exhibit a wide range of biological activities such as antimicrobial, anticancer, antialgal, and others. In the course of our continuous study on the bioactive secondary metabolites from marine microorganisms, we could isolate novel antimicrobial and anticancer compounds from Bacillus spp. We present here the isolation, structure determination and bioactivities of secondary metabolites from marine Bacillus species.nticancer, antialgal, and others.
