dc.description.abstract A Wave dissipating block is commonly used for the protection of shorelines and rubble structures. In Korea, however, many dissipating blocks, designed without any reinforcement, are often damaged by typhoon or excessive strong wind. To protect from the structural failure of blocks, the reinforcements are needed where the tensile stresses occur. In this study, numerical analyses are performed to investigate adequate location of reinforcement. Two types of wave dissipating block(T.T.P(TETRAPOD) and Dolos) are considered in this paper with various load and boundary conditionsect from the structural failure of blocks, the reinforcements are needed where the tensile stresses occur.
