To investigate trends of the coastal upwelling along the southeastern coast of Korea, daily surface temperature at Gampo and hourly wind at Busan of more than 40 years were analyzed. Upwelling index was positive from April to August with the maximum in July. A linear trend of the index for spring from March to May was positive. However, the trend was negative in the summer. These results are due to the surface atmospheric pressure change. Southwesterly has weakened in summer but increased gradually in spring. Northerly has tended to decrease in spring. To investigate correlation in long term, the upwelling index and Gampo SST were removed short frequency include seasonal period.
