dc.description.abstract Marine microorganisms represent a promising source for natural products due to their structural diversity and bioactivities1. In our continuing search for bioactive substances from marine microorganisms, we found that Streptomyces sp. 112CH-148 is a useful bacterium producing potent anticancer compounds. In a further study, we have isolated known (1-3) and new (4) butenolides from the Culture broth of the strain 112CH-148.2CH-148 is a useful bacterium producing potent anticancer compounds. In a further study, we have isolated known (1-3) and new (4) butenolides from the Culture broth of the strain 112CH-148. -
