Abstract
- Marine fungi have proved to be a rich source of chemically diverse products with a broad range of biological activities. The strain 1210CH-42 was a novel marine fungus isolated from a sea water sample taken at Chuuk state in the Federated states of Micronesia. In our search for bioactive metabolites from marine microorganisms, we found that the strain 1210CH-42 produces many new secondary metabolites with various biological activities. We report here the isolation, structure elucidation and bioactivity of the △8,9-pregnene steroids. states of Micronesia.
